Marcus Daly/FCI Clinic – August ’09
Just giving this a bump from the second page…
FF&W commercial break: The FCI Clinic at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital is revving up for August 21-23. I’m really looking forward to this Clinic, since the Marcus Daly facilities are so nice (and brand new to boot), and the Bitterroot is just a few blocks away. Hopper-time! If any FF&W readers want to get a taste of the “state-of-the-art” in fly casting biomechanics/medicine/instruction, I’d love to have you join us in Hamilton (MT).
You don’t need to injured or otherwise have a “physical issue” to max out your experience at the Clinic. All you really need is the desire to hang out with a few fellow casting geeks under the Montana big sky (and yeah, you’ll also need some extra bucks not already earmarked for a new rod, reel, etc.).
Rather than re-type a bunch of Clinic info, I’ll just be lazy and snip this from the FCI site:
The FCI is partnering with Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, Montana to present the first Marcus Daly/Fly Casting Institute Clinic from August 21 – 23, 2009.
The hospital’s new rehab center is a fantastic facility, and the clinic will be held in conjunction with the hospital’s own rehab professionals. We are truly excited to be working with Marcus Daly, and are looking forward to a great Clinic. The cost for the Clinic is $995. For more information about this special event, please call (406) 375-4500 or visit Marcus Daly’s fly casting website for testimonials and Clinic agenda.

Jason,
I like the new e-list. Yamame drawing on T-shirt is great too. I’d like to see either or both Brown or Cutt too but whatever it will be availble, I will try to pick up one.
It is very timely that you put about the terrestrial fishing. I am heading to Madison & Gallatin late Aug/early Sep when most of the insect activity seems waning (particularly Epeorus and Hydropsyche).
As of now I am trying to gather any kinds of info available and to tie whatever I can copy. If you’ve got more info, stories, patterns, etc about terrestrial fishing in Madison & Gallatin, please let me know……SY
Satoshi—Thanks for the feedback on the T-shirt design. Brown and cutt would definitely be on the list, same general “outline” style.
I have had some of my most memorable dry-fly days later in the season. Not because of outstanding hatches, but because of low, clear water and terrestrials. And it’s not always the easiest fishing (especially if we are talking ants, etc., not hoppers), but it can be really satisfying since it is often “all visual.”
I’ll try to get some terrestrial-focused posts up here before the mid-part of August.
